Conducted in collaboration with Ecociate Consultants, this project examines both sustainability and business practices dimensions in Maharashtra’s sugarcane production landscape. The study identifies operational and policy-level opportunities to improve resource efficiency, strengthen worker welfare systems, and enhance collaboration between mills and farmer groups. It provides recommendations for effective stakeholder engagement across the value chain in short and medium term to progress towards meeting responsible business conduct requirements
